Katy’s Closet – Necessity being the mother of invention, this storage solution was invented, perfected and produced by a Casita couple looking for a better way to make use of the biggest storage closet in the Casita. The challenges include optimizing storage while dealing with the irregular shape of the Casita hull. Many people have homemade solutions that work well for their needs. The Katy’s closet is the only product that I know that offers a closet solution available as either a do-it-yourself kit or with full installation. We opted for the ‘light kit’ option. You may want to fill up the closet with a less costly solution, or you may want to try several different ideas. For us, we appreciate the thought and quality that has gone into this ‘mod’. It is a winner.

There are plenty of overhead lights around the perimeter inside the Casita and of course windows which allow in natural light. There is a convenient overhead light inside the bathroom. The only area missing adequate light is in the middle of the ceiling where the Maxx Fan is located. To fix this we had LHOTR install a “chandelier light kit”. We think it is a great addition – form and function with a dimmer!

Soft start? OK – the way I understand it, installing a soft start on the factory installed A/C reduces the initial power draw on a generator being used as your power source. The soft start is installed at the motor for your A/C under the housing up on the roof. Sorry – no picture. Trust me it is in there.
