Let me back up a bit – the irony.
After we picked up our Casita at the factory we were on our way! Sure we had a plan but one can’t really underestimate the nervous energy pouring out of us -Attached to the back of our car was our brand new, MAJOR investment. It was the first time we EVER towed anything. As thorough as the walk-thru was during our scheduled pick up appointment you would think we would be more confident. They did a great job. But now we were cut loose from the mother ship. Where do we go from here?
We followed everyone’s advice (everyone being everyone on Casita FB groups) and stayed local for the first couple of nights ‘just in case’. Just in case something wasn’t working (everything worked) and we needed to circle back to Rice. We stayed for 2 nights at the Ennis Luxury RV Resort. I booked us in a comically large pull thru site with full hookups. The people there could not have been nicer. I think they were either genuinely nice people or they saw something in our eyes that stirred compassion for these newbies. It was probably both. They helped us make the water and electric connections. and we even dumped the tanks before leaving after our two nights. Two nights before dumping tanks. Doesn’t everyone do that? We were practicing!
The RV park was conveniently located near Walmart, Buc-ees, Tractor Supply, Braums ice cream – highly recommend each of those establishments. Still haven’t backed up….but it’s coming….
